By learning about your company and your objectives we can deliver a site that is designed and built specifically to meet your goals and fulfill your customer’s expectations.
We aim to keep the development process as simple as possible; we listen and learn about your company and your site objectives.
We discuss the project in detail, listen to your requirements and expectations and thus gain first hand knowledge of the character and ethos of your company.
Once we have understood your project brief we send you a detailed project proposal, which will include an initial quotation.
Both parties sign a contract which contains a detailed specification of what we will deliver and the timeframe of delivery.
This involves organising the functionality and content of the website into a structure that users are able to navigate intuitively.
We begin work on creating the look and feel of your website, starting with the homepage, this is then emailed to you as a flat JPEG image, you can then provide us with your thoughts and feedback on the initial design. We then work through an iterative cycle until a final design is agreed upon.
We then create a design for a secondary page (this might be an “about us” page or similar) using the homepage as a starting point. Once both designs have been completed you must then sign-off the designs so we can move to the production phase.
We begin work on translating the flat designs into web standards compliant and accessible templates, you can then view both the homepage template and a secondary page template in your browser so you can get a feel for the how the design will work as a website.
The next stage is to populate the templates with real content and create all the pages the site will contain and the navigation.
For a static brochure type website please proceed to Testing.
For a dynamic, database driven website please proceed to Wireframing.
During this stage we create mock-ups of how the functionality of the site will work, this is usually achieved using JavaScript and simple links with fake data so you can visualise how the finished website will function. This stage enables rapid prototyping where we can quickly adjust the functionality of the site from your feedback.
The next stage is to create the functionality we finalised in the wireframe stage for real. This involves programming and database work to build the underlying system that powers the website.
This includes user, web browser, platform and software testing.
