Jere’s Antiques goes live

Established in 1973 Jere’s Antiques is a family business specialising in the sale of fine antiques and designing and constructing bespoke furniture. Located in Savannah, Georgia US their 33,000 sq ft showroom is stocked with one of the largest and finest collections of rare English and Continental furniture from the 18th, 19th and 20th Century. Jere’s Antiques sell to dealers, decorators, auctions and private clients worldwide.

The new ICG website goes live

The Industrial Chemicals Group employs over 300 people and handles in excess of one million tones of materials per annum, with sales of over 300,000 tones of finished materials. ICG operate 20 chemical manufacturing plants spanning across the UK and US and supply their products to the detergent, paper, water treatment and chemical industries on a global basis.

IE8 Beta 1

It has come as quite a surprise to learn that Microsoft has released a first beta version of IE8. First impressions are that this really is a beta in all sense of the word, quite a few sites are broken (Google Maps has imploded) but I don’t think this is a major concern as there’s still some way to go so and Microsoft are encouraging reports to be submitted on website problems. I can only imagine there must be quite a few arriving at the moment.

IE8 Version Targeting Update

Microsoft has announced that they have listened and acted upon feedback received from the web design community with regards to their proposed version targeting in IE8. Just to recap, Microsoft had decided that IE8 would render pages by default as IE7 and standards savvy web developers would have to explicitly opt in to version targeting by means of a meta tag or HTTP header in order for IE8 to render a page as IE8.
