Shotcode offline web links

If you’ve ever tried entering a URL of any length into your mobile device you’ll agree that the experience is extremely annoying. The predictive text input that often speeds any sort of text entry is no help at all and I doubt it ever will be.

The solution to this is Shotcodes, which are effectively small images that can appear on or offline and are like barcodes for web URLs. So by pointing your camera enabled mobile device at the Shotcode you are taken to the specific URL the Shotcode represents. The only downside is that you need to download the Shotcode reader to your mobile device first.

There’s already quite a few big names using Shotcodes including GetJar.com, the world’s fastest growing mobile software download site serving up over a million downloads per week. They have implemented Shotcodes on their website to allow their users to point their mobile device at the Shotcode on-screen to access the software download file instantly.
