One of the web design industry’s favourite tools, the W3C Markup Validator, has been given an overhaul and new user interface. The W3C boast that the new validator has improved accuracy and performance and an array of new features including an automatic clean-up option that utilises HTML Tidy and also the validation of HTML fragments.

Snoring is not only a cause of sleep disturbance but can also have an impact upon daily life and personal relationships. The patient is then treated with either a non-surgical or surgical procedure to help bring about snoring relief.

The concept of “the fold”, the vertical cut off point at which further content on a web page can only be reached by scrolling, has long been a factor that dictates web design. It’s a common client request that we as web designers endeavor to include as much as possible above the fold. But have we taken a moment to consider whether uses are happy to scroll up and down a page and also how consistent is “the fold” point from one computer to the next?

Robert O’Callahan, a New Zealand based developer of the Mozilla/FireFox rendering engine, has spoken about how Firefox 3 will deliver support for offline applications. This is significant because it will allow people to use web applications like Gmail, Google Docs and Spreadsheets in the browser even when they’re offline. Rod Drury also pointed out in his post how this makes Firefox attractive as the browser platform of choice for SaaS providers (Software as a Service) such as salesforce.com.
